Sugar rush

1/8/11 – Hello all!  Sorry I didn’t write yesterday but I got a little busy.
Friday was a packed day.  I hung out with some friends and talked to lots of people that I haven’t caught up with in a while.  I have lots of others that I haven’t even begun to call back.  If you’re one of those people, I’m sorry.  I promise I will eventually call.  Through all the hanging out and talking I managed to watch my final Harry Potter movie.  It took me the whole day to finish the movie.  I’m sorry to say I did not have any time to watch Bravo, so no snarky comments about daytime TV.
I did receive a phone call from my surgeon’s office reminding me that I have an appointment on Monday.  Apparently if the weather is bad I will need to call the office to make sure they are open.  I’m not sure I would want to drive in bad weather, but I do need to make it to that appointment.  I know there are many of you who were concerned about whether I was allowed to drive or not.  You will be happy to know that I passed Todd’s driving test.  I drove in the dark, in the rain Friday night.  I made it to my destination safely without any incidents.  Well, that’s not completely true.  There was an incident in the Starbucks parking lot.  Todd went inside to get coffees and I was enjoying the Blackeyed Peas a little too much.  Two teenage boys totally caught me dancing in my car – remember I don’t dance.  I’m going to pretend that they were thinking “Wow, she’s older than me but she has rhythm and seems really cool.”  I’m delusional, I know, but it’s such a GOOD song.  Embarrassing!
Ok, I have probably gained 75 pounds because Melissa Moore brought me the most delicious dessert ever!  I will never be able to eat another dessert without thinking of this stuff.  I believe the proper name for it is “better than sex” and I’m not gonna lie, its fan-flippin’-tastic!  Brownie, not too much chocolate pudding, coolwhip, Heath bar, carmel.  Wow. Wow.  I have had this stuff for dessert and I even worked it into being a breakfast item – I don’t know how I rationalized that, but I’m just glad I did.
Today we finally took our Christmas tree down.  I had become emotionally attached to the tree.  We got it right before I had my CT scan so in my mind it was kind of like letting go to the last “normal” thing I had.  That tree saw me through a lot.  It was one of the prettiest trees we have had.
I went on my first mini road trip today.  We met my mom and dad in Palmetto (halfway for all of us) for mom’s birthday.  We ate at Frank’s.  It is a restaurant that is attached to a Marathon gas station.  I know how that sounds, but it was good.  I got stuff shells and marinara.  This was one of the largest meals I have ever seen.  I got a soup, salad, breadsticks, and my entrée.  Mom loves the desserts so we had to have dessert.  All in all it was a really good time.
I totally forgot one very important part.  I wore jeans for the first time today!  Jeans!  I’ve been living in sweat pants and dresses for 4 weeks now.  I don’t think I ever explained my scar.  It runs vertically down my stomach.  It is 4 inches long – 2 inches above my belly button, 2 inches below.  You may be wondering how do I know such an exact measurement?  That’s right!  I totally pulled out a ruler and measured my incision!  I don’t say any of that to gross y’all out, but I just wanted to explain why jeans, pants in general, have been challenging.
Todd felt that we needed to prepare for the “snowstorm” that is coming to Sugar Hill.  We went to the store and had to buy milk.  We have bread and milk.  Come what may, we are prepared.  Do you ever wonder what people up North think of our snow preparation?  I do.  I would like snow, but I am not hoping for it.  I have too much to do next week.
I have noticed that the longer I stay at home the more Southern my accent gets.  When I was on the phone the other day I heard myself say 10 with at least 2 syllables.  I know those of you who work with me probably think I am very Southern already and wonder if my accent can get thicker.  The answer is yes.  Yes, it can.  I personally like to work the term “might could” into any conversation that I can.  It’s classic.  I also know how to use the plural and possessive form of the conjunction “y’all” – there’s the regular “y’all” which, yes it is plural already but then there is “all y’all” as in “Would all y’all like some Coke?” and finally there is “all y’all’s” as in “You need to pick up all y’all’s stuff before I throw it out the window!”  I hope this has been educational and informative.  The moment I start using the long “I” in words please stage an intervention.  Those of you who have never heard what I am talking about “bless your heart”.
I have eaten more food than I can handle over the last two days.  I have no idea would I would want to eat if it was even possible for me to crave something.  I’ve had entirely too much sweet so I would probably lean toward something salty.  Since I got busted dancing to it, my song of the day is the Blackeyed Peas “Time of my life” – dirty bit!
For some reason I am watching Jets and the Colts game.  I don’t know why, but someone needs to do something because this game is pretty boring.  Night!

Flair & Laughter

1/6/11                                  Determine
                                                to live life
                                    with flair
                                                and
                     laughter.
MAYA ANGELOU
Pop Quiz!  What is the most important word in this quote?  Live? Flair? Laughter? No, the most important word in this quote is “Determine”.  Until you set your mind to live with flair and laughter it doesn’t matter 2 cents if those are things that you like or not - determine.  I love this quote.  One of my good friends gave me a card that has this quote on it and I think it truly characterizes how I want to live – with flair and laughter! I am a diva so flair is a given.  Laughter makes everyone feel better and it is the best medicine.  I don’t allow crying right now.  I live in a cry free zone.  Laughter is always welcome.
Today was another good day at home.  I continued my Harry Potter marathon with The Order of the Phoenix.  After my movie I decided I should be productive.  I went ahead and walked since it is supposed to get cooler tonight.  I like the idea of walking while it’s snowing, but grace hasn’t been my strong point since the surgery.  Walking in snow would be an accident waiting to happen.  So, I went ahead and walked while the sun was still out.  It was my first time walking with Buster.  I’ve been afraid to walk with him since that adds another layer of core strength.  I am happy to announce I passed the test.  I walked 1.5 miles with Buster all by myself! Small victories.  Another 10th of a mile and I am half way to a 5K distance.
Breaking news alert!  I have finally seriously reviewed my incision.  All of my seri-strips are off and I’ve started using my scar reducer cream.  Upon inspection I’ve noticed my incision is not straight.  I don’t know how I feel about this.  I do like things to be different and can appreciate something artsy, but I also like balance.  I’m not sure if I consider my incision artsy or off balance.  I do feel that it gives me character but I’m trying to evaluate how I’m going to feel about it when wearing a bathing suit.  I’m considering getting a small tattoo to balance out the catawampus line.  I seriously doubt I will get a tattoo on my stomach though.  I mostly wanted to freak my dad out when he read this.  Good one, right Dad?
How long is considered proper to leave a Christmas tree up?  Todd and I have planned to take our tree down since before New Year’s.  It just hasn’t happened.  We don’t even plug it in anymore which is sad.  Maybe the tree will finally make it down tonight?  I’m not betting on it.
Did you know that Oprah is looking for the next big TV star?  She has a show where she is looking for this person.  Since I’ve been watching a lot of television I feel that I know what consumers need.  I wonder if I can get on this show.  Do you think if I pulled the cancer card I could make it happen?  I’m picturing a mixture between the Wendy Williams Show, Tyra Show, and TMZ.  I want to really tackle the big issues in the world today – like people who still wear sandals with socks.  Someone has to do it, someone has to reach these people and I feel that I am the one that can cross boundaries and bridge the gap.
Hmmm.  What food am I craving today?  Lasagna!  I haven’t had a good Italian meal in a long time.  I would love lasagna.  My song of the day is “I do” by Lisa Loeb.  Great song.
Tomorrow’s Friday so it should be a good day, right?  Night y’all!

I could use a Snickers.

Pretty Please. With a cherry on top!

1/5/11 – Hello all!  Today has been a busy day.  I think doctors like to test cancer patients to ensure their sanity.  (1) I think that is cruel. (2) Challenge accepted!
I had my oncologist appointment this morning.  I was told to get to the office at 9:30 and that I would be taken back at 10:00.  Todd and I get there, I fill out all the fun (not) paperwork, and then we wait.  Wait. Wait. Wait.  What time was my appointment again?  At 10:30 and I hear other patients talking “I have a 10:20 appointment with Dr. XYZ.” “I have a 10:30 appointment with Dr. XYZ.”  Well, news flash, I have all of you beat.  I have a 10:00 appointment with Dr. XYZ.  Bam!  I finally get called back just to immediately step on a scale – Oh, thanks.  Make me wait forever and then remind me just how much I weigh.  You’re really endearing yourself to me.  The Diva is coming out.  Snickers!  I need a Snickers! – I have had a little time to stew, so when the very nice lab lady tells me that my blood pressure is high and asks if I’m stressed I honestly respond “Nope.  I’m pissed because I’ve been waiting over an hour.”  I know all of you are probably looking for a sensational story where I storm through the office and tell everyone where to go and then stomp on the scale until it tells me that I weigh what I would like to be in my mind, but sadly no.  After my vent session with the lab tech I was good.  I got to wait a little while longer before actually seeing my doctor.  I then had to tell my “how did all of this happen?” story for the 51st time.  My appointment today was basically a consultation to go over my chemo schedule.  Here is the basic run down.  I go to have a PET scan on Tuesday just to make sure that the colon cancer is all I have in my body.  I get a port put in on Thursday. (This will be an outpatient surgery and I will be knocked out – score! After the whole almost passing out during the staple removal I have been afraid I would pass out in the office when the port is put in.  I’m turning into Bionic Woman!)  On Friday I start chemo.  My chemo will be a 3 week rotation.  I will go in and be hooked up to an IV through my port for 3+ hours and then for the next 14 days I will have to take pills.  I will have a week off and then start all over again.  I get to do this wonderful rotation 8 – 10 times, which will take around 6 months.
It seems kind of weird having new information after being out of surgery for 3 weeks now.  It seems like all I’ve done is sit around and wait.   I did ask about my lymph nodes.  I didn’t know how many were removed and how many had cancer in them.  I knew that I was stage 3 because the cancer was in my lymph nodes.  Well, they removed 11 lymph nodes and I had cancer in 9 out of 11.  I am glad to have a plan and to have some answers.  I know next week is going to be busy because I will be at the hospital each day except for Wednesday.  I plan to relax and enjoy my day on Wednesday.
On my way home from the hospital Todd and I stopped at Chick-fil-A.  I needed a milkshake.  Apparently the chemo I’m getting is going to make me very sensitive to cold things.  I am supposed to have sensitivity to touch and I will have to drink or eat things that are at least room temperature.  Room temperature!  You know what that means right?  No smoothies!  What is it about cancer that denies me my inalienable right to smoothies?  So, I HAD to have a milkshake.  I am going to enjoy all the cold stuff until it is taken away from me.  Ever notice how when you are told not to do or not to eat something that it is the one thing that you have to have?
Back to my original thought about how doctors make patients jump through hoops and my new challenge to not lose my sanity.  Here is where it gets confusing for someone who is not 100%.  I have to have the port put in.  I call the surgeon to schedule having the port and I learn I have to have an office consult with him before the port is put in.  I am going for the consult at 2:15 on Monday, but then I have to go to the hospital on Monday for my pre-op.  My oncologist needs me to have a PET scan.  I have to be at the hospital at 9:00 Tuesday but I don’t have the scan until 11:00 (what is that?!).  Wednesday is my by day.  Thursday I’m getting the port so I have to be at the hospital at 9:30 but I don’t have the surgery until 12:00.  Friday I go to start my chemo at 9:00 and it is going to last 3+ hours.  Oh, yeah, I also have to remember to mention that the port should be left accessed.  They want me to bring snacks to chemo because they want to see me eating – weird.  Then I have to remember to take my pills each day after that.  I’m going to need a pill box.  It is going to be a miracle if I remember all the times and don’t show up at the wrong place at the right time.  But, I’ve got this.  I love a challenge!
A port.  I’m getting a port put in me.  Apparently this thing is about the size of a quarter and it may poke out a little.  It is going to have to stay in me for 6 months.  I’m not liking this.  Not liking this at all.  You all know how I was with my incision, what am I going to be like with a port in me that’s not coming out quickly?  I wonder if I can talk my surgeon into putting it on my back?  Out of sight out of mind.  I don’t think he’s gonna go for it though.
Once I got home I was disappointed to find that there wasn’t much on TV.   Why is day time TV so boring?  I guess I should do something constructive with my time.  Sigh… I worked on my art project some more.  Everything is coming together well.  Hopefully I will have it finished before the week is done.  I’ll share a picture of it with all of you if it turns out cool.
Right now I am watching TMZ – I know, I know.  I just can’t stop watching.  You learn a lot of important information watching that show.  Today I learned that some people don’t know who Lisa Rinna is.  All the astronauts that walked on the moon get together a lot.  There is also some debate between the astronauts whether there are aliens or not.  Snoop Dog won 20K from Dana White because the Lakers beat the Celtics and he rode Southwest Airlines to collect his moolah.  Zac Effron and Vanessa Hudgens may be back together.  Fascinating! I know!  Can you imagine how well informed society as a whole would be if everyone watched TMZ as opposed to the news?  Children, watch TMZ.  Quality television.
Since Todd went with me to the oncologist today he is working the later shift which ultimately means that I am starving waiting on him to get home so we can eat dinner.  I’ve had a lot of time to think about what I would like to eat and have decided I want some Thai food.  Not spicy, just yummy.  Maybe I can talk Todd into going to Myako soon.  Since I’ve been watching so much TV I’ve seen a lot of commercials for Country Strong that is coming out this Friday.  You know, the movie with Gwyneth Paltrow?  I keep getting the lyrics “shake that thing, shake that thang!” stuck in my head.  I want to see that movie just because of that song.  On that note, I’m out. Night y’all!

Self Therapy

Just being me, nothing more.

1/4/11 – Hello, hello!  Today has been a good day.
These last several days have been hard for me for a different reason.  No, I’m not sick.  No, I’m not feeling bad.  I’m feeling normal – do you hear me? Normal.  That’s the problem.  I’m finally starting to feel like me so now I get to deal with the fact that I have cancer.  Before that was something I couldn’t even pretend to wrap my mind around because my body did not feel normal.  I never knew that returning to normal could be so hard.
All of you have been awesome and have given me tons of support, but I’m starting to realize that other people are sick too.  I’m not the only one going through tough times.  When you have had so many people giving you all this attention it is hard to let go.  God has really been working in my life the last several days.  I have been searching for what I am supposed to learn through all of this.  There has to be a reason for everything.  I know this road is not over and that some days will be harder than others I just have to keep perspective through all of this.  I hope I haven’t brought all of you down – that really wasn’t my intention.  This blog is a good outlet for me to share how I’m truly feeling.  I take a lot of encouragement through what I’m going through because I know God is working in my life.
As I mentioned today was a good day.  I have been so encouraged by so many people.  Everyone has been truly awesome.  I spent the morning hanging out and sharing with a fellow cancer fighter.  She has been the greatest encouragement to me, though we did not know each other before.  Have you ever had someone come into your life that you don’t know but you instantly feel connected?  Weird, right?  She and I shared our stories and talked about things that only people with cancer can understand.  I am not happy that the two of us had to go through this but if we had to go through it in order to share our stories and minister to others in similar situations, then some good can come out of all of this.  For those of you who know someone who has gone through cancer I would encourage you to check in on them.  Yes, the obvious part may be over but you never know what that person goes through, or continues to go through on a daily basis.   Hugs always help.  There are healing powers in a simple hug.
I had a full day of watching The Millionaire Matchmaker.  Thanks to Bravo I am once again prepared to face life and make the perfect match.  I worked on my art project that I have been piddling on since the summer.  I have all the pieces prepped I just need to put it all together.  I’m really excited because I’ve put a lot of time and effort into it.  I also spoke with one of my friends from Alabama that found out he had colon cancer almost a year before me.  I wanted to talk to someone who was around the same age that had a similar situation.  It’s very odd having all my doctors say “how old are you?!”  Since colon cancer is not something that 28 year olds usually have it was really nice to know that I’m not alone.  Yes, I am weird, but I’m not alone.  After that I went on another walk with Yen.  I keep trying to take it a little further each day.  Today we went 1.2 miles.
I realize that my blog today hasn’t been too funny, but some days we have to be “real”.  I know that all of you read this to get a little humor, but I think you also read it to find out what’s going on with me.  I use the blog as a type of self therapy.  It really helps me to talk and laugh at myself.  Today I just needed to share.  I hope you didn’t mind.
I am headed to the oncologist tomorrow.  I know it is probably not prudent to be excited about a doctor’s appointment, but I am.  I am ready to know what is ahead of me.  It is scary not knowing.
I really could go for a Coke Icee and some white cheddar popcorn.  My song of the day is Hold Us Together by Matt Maher.  If you haven’t heard this song I highly recommend it.  To borrow a term from one of my favorite kids “it’s so my style”.  Here are song lyrics to take us out for the night.  Night y’all. (love ya Aunt Patsy)
It don’t have a job, don’t pay your bills
Won’t buy you a home in Beverly Hills
Won’t fix your life in five easy steps
Ain’t the law of the land or the government

But it’s all you need

And love will hold us together
Make us a shelter to weather the storm
And I’ll be my brother’s keeper
So the whole world will know that we’re not alone

You can dance if you want to

1/3/11  – I am typing my blog from my new hot pink laptop lap desk.  It is awesome!  I think I have mentioned that Shea Days have started.  Anna, my former coworker who lives close to me, brings a gift by my house each day.  These are just little things that have been left on my desk since I went home before the surgery.  It’s really fun.  I get a present a day – and Todd wonders why I’m spoiled!  So, today’s gift was from the logistics department.  I thought it was hilarious that logistics gave me a laptop desk!  How perfect is that?  I guess that is why they are so successful – gold star.  They sent me lots of goodies that will help make me more comfortable.  The gift came with an inventory listing and all.  It made me smile.
So, now that I am prepared to write, let’s get on with it!  Yesterday was a little bit too much for me.  We went to church, shopping, and then went by some friends’ house.  I had a great time and ate some yummy food, but by the time I got home I was feeling a little stiff.  I haven’t felt stiff for about a week.  Note to self: do not over do it.  Today has been much more chill.
I have been stuck on Tabatha’s Salon Takeover today.  I think Bravo is preparing me to reach my full potential as an individual.  I can now walk into a salon and know if it functions properly. Watch out! Hahaha…  I think tomorrow’s all day show is The Millionaire Matchmaker.  Tomorrow I will be prepared to make a good love match.  All my single friends should be warned.
This morning I was sorting through my cards trying to get everything into one place (obviously I’m watching Tabatha’s Salon Takeover while I’m doing this).  As I’m sorting the phone rings.  The phone is in the living room so I have to walk all the way into the other room to answer it.  When I reach the phone Todd says “Why are you breathing so hard? You’re not over doing it are you?”  Sorry.  I promise I wasn’t running around the house.  I move slower and things tire me more.  I find it funny that he is the one questioning me when he is the reason I am huffing and puffing because I had to go get the phone.
My Harry Potter marathon continued today with the Goblet of Fire.  I decided to do my nails during the movie.  I must be really popular today because my home phone and cell rang at least 5 times.  *** I love all of you that called. *** I was beginning to wonder if Todd had people checking on me since I’m home alone now.  Like I mentioned I painted my nails.  My toes are still the awesome “Dorothy Who?” blue sparkly color from when Bekah did them in the hospital but my fingers needed some flair.  I decided clear and pink were too boring.  I contemplated putting the blue on my fingers, but decided that it was a color best reserved for toes.  I chose “Grape Juice”.  One guess what the color is.  It is a sparkly purple.  So now my nails are sparkly purple and my toe nails are sparkly blue.  All I need is a few silly bands and I will be ready for 6th grade.  I think the 6th graders have got it right, fun nails make you feel fun inside too!
I keep seeing commercials for Kinect for Xbox360.  I think the Dance Central game could be a good way for me to workout but not hurt myself.  I’m afraid to mention it to Todd because he would jump at any reason to purchase a PS3 or Xbox.  Plus, we have to remember the most important part – I CAN’T dance.  I am a white girl through and through.  Any of you who have seen me sing in the choir you will notice that I will sing and I will clap, but I will never sing AND clap at the same time.  It’s kind of like how it’s physically impossible to keep your eyes open when you sneeze.  It is physically impossible for me to sing and clap simultaneously.  Sad, right?  What makes it even sadder is that I want to sing and clap and I want to dance.  I think the Xbox game might help me.  Am I delusional?  I’ve been off the Percocet for over a full week, promise! I did tell Todd that I want to take salsa lessons whenever I’m able.  I’m not sure if he thought I was joking because I told him I wanted to take piano lessons too.  Apparently I want to do everything!  I am a diva, ya know.
I am having a cheese burger again today!  I may have a cheese burger 5 days in a row now that I can eat them.  I heart cheese burgers.  Yum!  My song of the day is Last Resort by Papa Roach.  I’m not sure why but the first few lyrics keep running through my head “cut my life into pieces, this is my last resort”.  I promise, mentally I am ok.  I just like that song.  No underlying message here. = )
Bye y’all!

Shop til Shea drops!

1/2/11 – Hey, hey!  Today has been a busy day.  It’s been awesome!
My plan for today was to go to worship service and walk a mile.  So, of course, when you are trying to do something what happens?  You sleep late or run late.  2 guesses what happened to me.  I woke up at 10:15 and thought “Oh no!  I’m not going to make it to church!” (Worship starts at 10:45 and I do not move as quickly as I did pre-surgery.)  I jump (not really, I couldn’t jump if I tried) out of bed.  I hear the TV on in the living room and start to think “Todd went to church and left the TV on.  I don’t remember him saying good-bye to me…”  That is because I discovered Todd in the living room watching sports.  What is goin’ on here?  I asked him why he didn’t wake me and he said that I looked “so peaceful” – something about that just makes me laugh, not sure why.  Apparently I did not sleep that well last night and he thought I could probably use the extra rest.  I guess I can’t fault him for being thoughtful.  I still wanted to go to church so we both got ready.  I used to have my morning routine down to a cool 31 minutes – I believe in sleeping late and hitting the snooze button at least 3 times.  Well, let’s just say I no longer get ready that fast.  Luckily I had laid my clothes out the night before because deciding what to wear is 75% of the battle.  We made it to church a few seconds before the service started.
It was so nice to go to worship.  I don’t think you truly know how much you miss it until you go.  I have a lot to be thankful for and it was just so nice to sing “I’m casting my cares aside, I’m leaving my past behind, I’m setting my heart and mind on you, Jesus…”  There is just something about singing and really believing all the words are true that give so much hope.  I need a little hope and renewal.  I’m feeling good.
After church Todd and I went shopping! Yeah!  I haven’t been shopping since the weekend before my surgery.  We went to DSW and I had no intention of buying shoes.  I promise.  I promise I had no intention of buying shoes.  It just happened.  The sales lady twisted my arm.  I found a cute pair of black wedges.  I’ve missed heels – I’m afraid to wear heels because I think I might fall over.  And, if I fell there is a 30% chance that I might not be able to get back up.  Well, these wedges are a moderate height and have a strap for ankle support – win!  So, of course I HAD to buy them.  Well, we get up the counter and I have $10 left over.  How is that possible?  I have to spend that or it might disappear into a black hole that only exists at DSW.  Todd says “Hey? Haven’t you been wanting some Chuck Taylors?”  Yeah, of course.  Todd points out some on a display at the front of the store.  I go over to the table and they have a pair of grey ones with hot pink lining, a hot pink sparkly tongue that folds down, and sparkly laces.  Score!  I scoop up my size and we are in business.  “My name is Shea and I have a shoe addiction.”  I know the first step is to admit that you have a problem, but seriously people this is a problem that I have zero desire to correct.  I’m totally ok being dependent on shoes.  If anyone tries to stage an intervention if would be good for you to remember that I know how to perform a perfect shrimp kick and I know kempo (well, as much kempo as you can learn from 90X).
Buying shoes can really wear a girl out.  Todd surprised me and drove to Five Guys!  I’ve needed a cheese burger since I can’t even remember. I got a little cheeseburger and Todd and I split some fries.  It was heavenly.  I was only able to eat half my burger, so I think I need another to make me feel complete.  That’s only right, right?  How about a milkshake too? Mmmm….
After Five Guys Todd and I ran to Ulta to get some hair stuff (No, Carie I did not buy shampoo, I’ll leave that faux pas to Tara).  I may be stuck at home, but I still have to look cute.  We then went to Nordstrom Rack where I found one dress I could use to go to doctors appointments and when I go back to work.  I was having a great day, but I was worn slap out!  My second goal for today was to walk a mile.  I am going to consider my walking at church and shopping as a mile.  Is that ok?  I’ll make sure to really walk tomorrow.
Now I am lying on the couch trying to recuperate from my busy day.  I would love another cheese burger – something you should know about me, I can eat the same thing over, and over, and over…  Except chicken broth, I’m done.  My song of the day is “I’m walking on sunshine” because this has been a great day!  I hope everyone enjoys their Sunday.  Take it easy.

New Year's Resolution

1/1/11 – Happy New Year everyone!  I hope everyone has had a great day.  I have spent my day relaxing.  Todd and I slept in and then I enjoyed some delicious cold pizza for breakfast.  Pizza is the one food that I never get tired of eating.  I love pizza – fresh or cold.  Remember the rectangle pizza from elementary school?  It was awesome!
This afternoon Todd went over to Kenton and Kristina’s to watch football with Kenton, AnDrew, and Phillip.  Kristina, Sara, Tara, and I had an all day Twilight movie marathon.  I really like the whole Twilight series.  The books are better than the movies, but the movies are pretty cool to watch.  Side note: Edward should be much hotter than Robert Pattinson – I am totally Team Edward, but if all I had done was watch the movies I guess I could understand why someone would be Team Jacob.  Taylor Lautner is pretty cute. – It was a fun day.
So, that is really all I have done today.  Watch movies and eat.  Sorry that this has been such a boring day.  Now I am by myself and watching Jerseylicious (it’s like a train wreck) and Golden Girls.   I think since I’m watching the Golden Girls my song of the day should be their song “thank you for being a friend, travel down the road and back again…”  I love the Golden Girls!  Dorothy is so snarky.  I can relate.  I love snarkiness.
I have been on a total pizza kick.  We had pizza for dinner tonight and I would love some more!  I still can’t eat a whole lot, which is probably a blessing in disguise.
Have you thought of your New Year’s resolutions?  I haven’t really thought of many, but it’s always fun and nice to set them.  Here are a few I can think of off the top of my head:
-          Keep off the weight I’ve lost.
-          Run a 5K. (I’m not sure when this will happen, but hopefully I can accomplish it before the year is through.  Maybe I’ll do one that goes to cancer research?)
-          Try to keep a positive attitude through chemo.
-          Finish my art project.
-          Appreciate people and things more.  Not take things for granted.
My goal for tomorrow is to walk a mile and go to worship service.  Small steps!
